James Williams is currently the Senior Director of Technology Research and Innovation for Teradata. He is responsible for emerging technology trends and assessments, identifying key leading edge academic research and innovations, and for driving the ideation and innovation framework for the corporation. Prior to Teradata, James served as SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory (SLAC) Chief Information Officer and Director of the Computing Division for 5 years , as well as principle advisor to the Laboratory Director for Computing Operations and Scientific Computing Services. In addition, James worked at the NASA Ames Research Center for 14 years with his last role being CIO and was responsible for delivering the Nebula Cloud Computing platform that eventually became foundational to the OpenStack community
