Melissa Wicklund is a strategic and visionary creative director with over 14 years of strong design and leadership experience, accustomed to surpassing expectations in deadline-driven environments. She has both managed and worked within internal design teams, and external agencies to build a strong track record of powerful, refined, and successful designs. She is highly effective in analytical problem solving, understanding of current design trends and visual communication, and efficient strategy implementation. Melissa is a proven leader in fostering creativity and professional growth in clients and team members, and thrives in energetic, challenging and collaborative environments.

Her role at UC San Diego is to produce breakthrough creative for the CWC, from concept to completion, that is on target and gets immediate results. This includes marketing and design support for CWC events, research initiatives, websites, and public affairs. Melissa grew up in the south bay area of beautiful California and traveled down to San Diego to go to college for graphic design, and instantly fell in love with this big town. She is an SDSU Alumni, obtaining a Bachelors in Applied Arts & Sciences with an emphasis in Graphic Design. She is married and lives in north county, has 2 boys in elementary school, and enjoys many outdoor and artsy hobbies, volunteering for the school and local Little League, and cooking and baking at home.
